Preparing for an Interview

Writer's picture: Gbitse BarrowGbitse Barrow

Many candidates approach interviews without proper preparation, relying on improvisation, which undermines their confidence and reduces their chances of success. Meanwhile, interviewers follow a structured process of planning, preparation, and practice (the 3 Ps) to evaluate candidates against specific job competencies. To succeed, candidates must adopt the same 3 Ps by anticipating common questions, aligning their education, experience, and interests with job requirements, and preparing clear examples that demonstrate their impact. They should also address potential red flags in their resumes and present their strengths and weaknesses thoughtfully, with actionable insights to show self-awareness and growth.
